Menopause Home Based Blood Test

Menopause and peri-pausal symptoms can impact many women's lives. Especially in their relationships, social life, family life and work. Completing a blood finger prick test could help women find some answers. Women can self-test in the safety and privacy of their homes.

Women can use the results from this blood test to start a conversation with their Doctor. To create an effective personalised treatment plan. A woman's first step in taking back control of their life.

What to expect from this Menopause Hormones Profile?

This home test checks:
  • for the essential hormones needed to give information about menopause.
  • it can help with hormone replacement therapy monitoring
  • period problems
  • It can identify the hormonal changes expected at the onset of menopause.

Identifying Conditions of this Test

Many types of hormones support different functions and processes. Including growth, metabolism, appetite and fertility. Hormone imbalances or deficiencies may be to blame for a wide range of symptoms and conditions.
This test checks for 3 hormones:

  • Oestradiol: This is a form of oestrogen. The main female hormone produced by non-pregnant women. The hormone has an important role. It assists in the development of female physical features and reproductive functions. Oestradiol tests are used for the evaluation of ovarian functions. And in the diagnosis of delayed puberty in girls. It is used to check hormone replacement therapy in peri-pausal and menopausal women.
  • Follicular Stimulating Hormone (FSH) is a reproductive hormone. Produced by the brain's pituitary gland. FSH stimulates the growth and development of unfertilised eggs, during the menstrual cycle. It initiates the production of sex hormones such as oestradiol and progesterone. FSH is also used to stimulate the production of sperm in men. The FSH hormone is often tested with other sex hormones.
  • Luteinizing Hormone (LH) is a reproductive hormone. Produced by the pituitary gland in the brain. It regulates the menstrual cycle and ovulation. It stimulates the ovaries to produce other reproductive hormones in females. In men, LH stimulates and controls testosterone. The LH test is used to determine any reproductive problems.

How does the test process work?

Covguard will send a home-based test kit, which includes all the instructions on how to do the test. Pre-paid returned postage is included in the test kit. Doctor-validated results are emailed via a secure link.

It is important to note that blood tests alone are not a substitute for seeing a doctor. Especially if feeling unwell. Do not make a diagnosis or start any treatment. First, consult a doctor or a trained healthcare professional. Results need to be assessed within the context of a full medical history.
